Synesthesia explores the relationship between sound and visuals through abstract animation. ​Rather than illustrating music, it investigates how visuals can reveal the character and texture of sound.

 

Timbres become geometric forms, lines trace pitch and melodic movement, the movement of shapes represents rhythm, colours indicate the onset of sounds and borders respond to resonance.

With this project, I wanted to express musical ideas through motion, colour and form without relying on conventional notation.

The project proposes a visual language capable of representing timbre, pitch, rhythm and resonance in an intuitive way.
